Are you or your clients looking to grow a business within NSW? If a new position is filled between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2019, a new employee might not be the only benefit to the business. To encourage small businesses to increase employment rates of full-time, part-time and casual staff, the Small Business Grant has been designed.
Under the Small Business Grant, businesses that do not pay payroll tax are eligible for the grant for each new NSW Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) employee. Provided that the eligibility requirements are met, and the business registers on the Office of State Revenue (OSR) website within 60 days of hiring, the money is granted when the employee celebrates their first anniversary.
For more information on eligibility requirements and claiming the grant, see the OSR Small Business Grant overview here.
Just hired? Make sure the application is registered within 60 days of the hire – which can be done here.
